It's March already?

At the Greek Antipodes Festival in February
At the Greek Antipodes Festival in February

The year has been a mixture of markets, festivals and beaches.

I have moved to the bay area and discovered so many book fairs and markets to participate in, which has been a wonderful way to talk with people and introduce my novels to new readers.

One of my favourite festivals is the Antipodes Festival. Its a 2-day celebration of all things Greek. This year it was dreadfully hot on the Saturday and on Sunday we had an hour of intense downpour. Ahh Melbourne, gotta love it.

Coming up I will be at the Clunes Book Fair on Saturday March 22, then on Sunday at the Yarraville Festival. This year the Yarraville Festival will be hosting a large marquee with authors who are either Greek or write about Greek themes.

Next month I have been invited to speak at the Greek Writers Festival in Sydney, in conversation with well known academic and journalist Phil Kafcaloudes. If you are in that part of the world, I hope you can attend. It would be lovely to meet you.

Work mode has been busy. The Little Book of Apologies is in production and I will probably launch it in late May or early June. I will also have a video to launch as part of my presentation for the Eyelands Book Award 2024 for Dancing the Labyrinth. It is such an honour to have my work acknowledged through this international award and I am patiently waiting for my ceramic Tree Trophy to arrive.

Work on my memoir Awakening the Minotaur has begun, although I have been distracted by following up my award winning presentation paper at the AAWP 2024 Conference with a deeper dive into aphantasia and its influence on my writing. Stay tuned. I am considering sending links to this creative non-fiction work via email subscriptions. So if you havent yet subscribed, what are you waiting for?
